Sweet Dreams

Tonight, I unpacked some of the boxes as I organized our den into an office when I stumbled upon something that put a big grin on my face - one of my Sweet Dreams romance novels from my early teen years!

I remember cleaning out my old desk years ago and it was hard to part with my collection of teen romance novels. I thought it would be silly to keep them all, but I'm so glad I decided to keep one for memory's sake even though I got rid of the rest.

I don't know if these were popular here in North America at the time, but they were huge in Manila, where I grew up! They were definitely up there as one of my favourite things!

Guess what my bed time read will be tonight? I'm curious to see how I would enjoy this read now, as an adult and almost ready to pop a baby out! Can't wait to be brought back to one of my happy places which I haven't visited in a long while... so excited!

Sweet dreams, everyone!!! =)

What's Under the Kilt?

This is Angus. One of Sean's Uncle Tom's prized possessions. Auntie Kathy, on the other hand, thinks he's an old pervert - Angus, that is.

Sean and I crossed the border today to visit with his Auntie Kathy & Uncle Tom for a couple of hours as well as pick up some baby stuff we got shipped to them. They just moved to a new place three weeks ago and got rid of a lot of stuff in the process; I'm glad to see that Angus made the move.

I bet you're now curious to see under Angus' kilt!

Wild

Today, I went out with my arty ladies for a photo walk artist date. For some reason, these berries caught my eye. It's not the first time I've seen them, but perhaps this time... because I've gone through so much change in my own body from being pregnant, I am just a bit more aware.

These plants, often not catching most of our attention, quietly go about their natural business... flowering, then transforming the flowers into fruits. Seems simple and insignificant... they are small, and often inconspicuous... yet I can't help but imagine how much "science" and/or "miracles" happen in that little and insignificant bit of nature.

Considering that... I think to myself, "Wild!"

Don't Just Survive...

During my appointment with my chiropractor tonight, I noticed this token on his desk. What an awesome message from the universe!

One of my fears is to live an ordinary life. I don't want to just scrape by... I want to live a full life! Sure, there will be hard times when it will be good to just get by... but for the most part, I would want to be happy, consciously living the life I want to live, experiencing all that the world has to offer.

Play, be creative, be curious, be happy.

Imagine, dream, believe, love.

Live with passion!

My Rocket Dogs

Not just a pretty face, so comfy... my favourite companion for walking around downtown!

You bring out the best kid in me... curious, playful, full of wonder in exploring the world around me.

If You Can't Beat 'Em...

Join 'em!

If you know my husband, you know that he's a HUGE sports fan. I don't just become a hockey playoffs widow, I am a sports widow... ALL YEAR ROUND! He watches the NFL, NHL, golf, college basketball, Nascar, poker, baseball, yada yada yada - no joke!

It is true he watches a lot of sports, but I was kidding about being a sports widow. Hubby does go for walks with me, and spends enough time with me that I don't find myself complaining about it most of the time. This year however, I figured I would join the hockey pool at work. Perhaps it'll help me see his world a little more... and I'm looking forward to the experience of possibly sharing in one of his great loves, even if for just a little bit.

Attraversiamo

After work, I phoned my friend Nuala for an impromptu hang out because I wanted to go hunt for my photo of the day. I was so glad she could come. She took me to this park just across the street from her place, tucked away carefully like most precious spaces are. There was a creek, higglety pigglety steps everywhere, benches, lots of trees, then I came across...

A bridge. Sometimes, it is a welcomed opportunity to be able to explore a new world. Other times, it has felt like I am dragged across it kicking and screaming... stressing over the unknown. I think the bridges are all the same, it's me that is different whenever I come across one... which makes the difference on whether I welcome it or feel an aversion to it.

What if we welcomed every bridge with child-like, bright-eyed curiosity and love for adventure?

Whimsically Dreamy

Today, I had another date with my artist friends... and this month's theme was watercolour! Experimenting with watercolour is a great way to practice playing, being curious, and just letting your imagination take you away.

This was my work of art - it makes me think of the words dreamy and whimsy =)

Charming

Forgetting to bring half of my lunch today resulted in an opportunity for me to get out of the office. On my way back from picking up my lunch, I went into a no-through road to turn around when I spotted this charming cottage that looked like it belonged in a fairy tale book. I'm curious as to what it looks like inside...

p.s. the name of the street it's on - Hope =)

Visit From A Curious Monkey!

This is Sierra Grace... whose mommy was nice enough to stop by the office for a visit today. Such a treat to be in the presence of such innocence & curiosity. In this picture, she is intrigued by how Stephen is making that clucking sound with his mouth.

The simplest things are so interesting to babies... attempt to be child-like (not childish!) - be curious, you never know what could amaze you!

Go Ahead, Sniff It Out!

Meet Jake - the tall, dark and handsome vizsla that we get the pleasure of having in our company at the office about two days a week. He is currently in the care of my friend and colleague Leanne, until the dog rescue center can find him a good home. He loves people and is such a suck for attention. He used to be a hunting dog, but gave up that career to find a good master who will give him lots of cuddles!

Today, I went with Leanne to take him out for a walk at the park across the street from our office. He is such a great reminder of curiosity and play. In this picture, he was curiously sniffing out my camera!

Let's all be curious like Jake and not be afraid to sniff out the unfamiliar!... even if it's for FOMO! You might just find something wonderful!

*FOMO stands for "Fear of Missing Out"
